Technical Procedure Trailer SuSpenSion SySTemS aDB Wear inDicaTor Tool SuBJecT: Instructions for measuring air disc brake rotor and pad thickness liT no: T72011 DaTe: September 2017 roTor THicKneSS Hendrickson recommends replacement at 37 mm (1.46") or less meaSurinG roTor THicKneSS 1. Loosen thumb nut. 2. Slide jaws apart and position on either side of the rotor. 3. Slide together so the jaws lightly touch both sides of the pad surface area on the rotor. noTe: Do noT measure at the outermost edge of the rotor. A lip may exist on the edge, which will affect the measurement. 4. Record reading on Rotor Thickness scale. 5. If reading is 37 mm or less, replace the rotor per T71004. inner paD THicKneSS Hendrickson recommends replacement at 4 mm (0.15") or less. meaSurinG paD THicKneSS 1. Loosen thumb nut. 2. Position the end with jaws down in between the edge of the pad backing plate and rotor face. noTe: If the rotor has a lip on the outer edge, tilt the tool to contact both pad backing plate and pad contact surface area of rotor, avoiding the lip. 3. Once both jaws are touching surfaces of the pad backing plate and rotor, tighten the thumb nut. 4. Record reading on Pad Thickness scale. 5. If the reading is 4 mm or less, replace pads per manufacturer instructions. Refer to T72009 for MAXX22T maintenance instructions. ouTer paD THicKneSS Hendrickson recommends replacement at 4 mm (0.15") or less.
